Land Reclamation
Land reclamation is the practice of creating new land where there was once water. In a thriving democracy such as India, the practice of reclaiming land has been a longstanding practice. A related practice is the draining of swampy or seasonally submerged wetlands. While this does not exactly create new land, it allows productive use of territory. Indian Real Properties offers information on Land Reclamation.
The issue of slum eviction gathers momentum, especially in the context of the varied aspects of land reclamation. The slum demolition drive that was recently organized by the Mumbai Municipal Corporation captured the middle-class angst against illegal squatters, and the outrage of the displaced about the inequity in treating those who form the underbelly of Mumbai's economy.
As it appears, realtors and developers are always on the lookout for repossession. Mumbai is a unique instance of the boon of globalization and flourishing of the real estate market in India, although it excavates the flip side of the scenario, rather than the buoyant.
A coherent low-income housing policy should direct the discussion to 2 queries: Can the housing needs of the urban poor be served by market forces? If so, what needs to be done? After all, housing finance has boomed as a result of market forces. The onus then lies on the banks to assist the low-income groups

Architecture and Design Architecture is both the process and product of planning, designing and constructing space that reflects functional, social, and aesthetic considerations. It requires the manipulation and
coordination of material, technology, light, and shadow. Architecture also encompasses the pragmatic aspects of realizing designed spaces, such as project planning, cost estimating and construction
administration. A wider definition may comprise all design activity from the macro-level (urban design, landscape architecture) to the micro-level (construction details and furniture). In fact,

The principal information provided in set of house drawings are as follows: Site plans are drawn to show the location of a home on the property in its context. It is an overhead
view of the construction site and the home as it sits in reference to the boundaries of the lot. Site plans should outline location of utility services, setback requirements, easements, location of
driveways and walkways, and sometimes even topographical data that specifies the slope of the terrain. A floor plan is an overhead view of the completed house. You'll see parallel
lines that scale at whatever width the walls are required to be. Dimensions are usually drawn between the walls to specify room sizes and wall lengths.
